Marta Stephens is a native

of Buenos Aires Argentina but a resident of the United States since the age of four. She began her career as a fiction writer in 2003. The desire to journal her thoughts evolved into a life-changing passion that has led to the birth of her Sam Harper Crime Mysteries and her debut novel, SILENCED CRY (2007) print: ISNB 978-1-905202-72-0, e-book: 1905202725.

She is published by BeWrite Books (UK). In June 2008, her debut crime novel, SILENCED CRY, received honorable mention at the 2008 New York Book Festival and was ranked 4th in the mystery category of the 2007 Preditors and Editors Readers’ Poll.
Book two in the Harper series, THE DEVIL CAN WAIT, print: ISBN 978-1-905202-86-7, ebook: 978-1-905202-87-4) will be released in November 2008. She is working on the third Harper book and also administers the popular authors’ blog, MURDER BY 4.

Stephens lives in the Midwest with her husband, daughter, son, and their very spoiled Boston Bull Dogs and mini Daschunds. Stephens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Ball State University (IN), is a member of Sisters in Crime International, Sisters in Crime Speed City Indiana Chapter, and the Midwest Writer's Workshop.
