Chidren Are Geniuses by Rob Sargeant

I've started doing a series

of readings at a Jr Church, in Courtenay, B.C., where the children range from age four up to age twelve, and I'm amazed at how well they listen. The first week we gathered in a classroom, small enough so I didn't have to use a mike, but big enough so everyone could sit down. My first impression was that some of the kids were too young for what I was reading, as the title was listed on Amazon for kids aged 9-12. I started to worry, hands getting clammy, was I loosing my audience? I tried to be more expressive than usual (acting things out) to keep the little ones interested, but on whole, stuck to the text as written. The second week I came back, I asked them all some questions (offering prizes of gum) concerning the chapter I read the previous week. Blew me away. It was the little kids, four and five years old, coming up with the answers. They are geniuses.
